Fishery in Open Waters
The publication concentrates on the characteristics of open water and describes the ways in which it can be maintained and used for fishing. Attention is focused mainly on the issue of maintaining fishing grounds including the legislative framework. Modern procedures of fishing management in salmonid and non-salmonid grounds are described in the book, as well as the possibilities of using valley reservoirs for fishing. Other chapters discuss the questions of fish predators in open waters and water pollution and its influence on fish including accidental deaths. The main causes of the damage to aquatic ecosystems and potential ways for them to be repaired are described. Attention is also given to the issue of reducing fishing for maintenance and monitoring purposes, fish farming and the introduction of fry into fishing grounds, the migration of fish including the characteristics of fish ladders and barriers to migration, the protection of the biodiversity of fish fauna in the Czech Republic and recreational fishery.
